Intro to Sporting Clays
October 16 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
This fun event is open to anyone with little or no experience. The goal is for this to be an experience where everyone feels comfortable with handling a shotgun and learning the game of sporting clays. We will set up groups so that there is at least one experienced shooter with each group (if you’d like to keep your group together, let us know). We will go over the all of the safety that comes with handling a shotgun, and will provide the shotguns, ammo, safety equipment and instruction from an NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor. The format will be “open instruction,” so you have the best chance of breaking clays and learning the finer points of the sport. No score will be kept, but you can have bragging rights that you broke the most! Although this will be less about a great score and more about having fun and getting comfortable with participating in a sporting clays environment.
Participation is capped at 25 and the program is expected to last 2-3 hours.
We’ll will meet at the clubhouse at 1 p.m. and fill out all the necessary waivers. A brief walk to the beginner area of the range, where they have set up an instruction course for all levels, but geared to the novice/inexperienced shooter. Wear comfortable, weather appropriate attire.
Drinks and snacks will be provided at the range.
