Our firm is fortunate to have a friendly and talented team which we are looking to expand. We are looking for a project designer who has a minimum 2 years work experience. The position includes working with a team of architects and other team members to help produce contract documents for our multi-family and commercial projects. This position includes coordination with consultants, working with Project managers on elevations, site plans and building plans, and coordination of working drawings.

The qualifications we are looking for include:

  • Autocad or Revit proficiency
  • Sketch UP experience
  • Some experience with construction issues
  • Some exposure to building code and accessibility code
  • Knowledge of the production and coordination of drawings
  • Detail oriented, organized and work well on a team
  • Multi-family experience a plus

Senior Architect
Hanbury | Richmond, VA

Hanbury, an Architecture, Planning, and Interior Design Firm established in 1979, is seeking a Senior Architect to join its Richmond office. The ideal candidate should have project leadership experience in a variety of design-focused work, such as higher education, civic/community, and science & technology projects. The candidate should be able to advance the mission, goals, strategies, and core values of the firm.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Design Principal and Project Manager to deliver services, consulting with clients to identify project goals and objectives, leading project meetings, directing and reviewing the work of designers and other staff, evaluating the project program, schedule, budget, site, and other information provided by the client, preparing designs and drawings using computer-assisted design software, considering environmentally responsible design options, and preparing construction documents.

The Senior Architect will also coordinate with other consultants on the project, document and maintain project records, estimate the cost of the work, advise and consult with clients during the Construction Phase Services, and perform duties consistent with professional skills and care provided by architects practicing in the same or similar locality.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, an established Virginia Architectural License, 15+ years of experience within the A/E/C industry, strong leadership and communication skills, excellent interpersonal and networking skills, attention to detail, extensive knowledge of architectural software, deadline-driven, dedicated to excellence, and a commitment to staying current with future trends in the industry.
