Scholarships for 2020-2021 Announced

AIA Richmond is proud to announce the recipients of scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year. Scholarship awards are presented to students from the AIA Richmond service area and who have been accepted into an accredited architecture program.

Elizabeth Shull

Elizabeth Shull aspires “to create spaces that emphasize the closeness and intimacy of communities but also embrace the surrounding environment.” Elizabeth is a graduate from Henrico High School and will be attending Virginia Tech.

Trent-Vera

Trent Vera wrote that he felt “compelled to create livable communities, not only in large scale suburban environments but also smaller scale urban areas, utilizing my sense of appreciation for the social environment it fosters.” Trent is a graduate from Clover Hill High School and will be attending University of Virginia.

Katherine White wrote that “the need to acquire safe, sound infrastructure is what allows communities to further develop and thrive.” She is a graduate from Powhatan High School and will be attending Virginia Tech.

AIA Richmond’s scholarship program is funded in part by proceeds from programming, and generous support from the Architects Foundation, and donations from individuals and firms.
