Stroud Awarded 2023 Scholarship

AIA Richmond is proud to announce that Alexis Stroud is the recipient of the 2023 scholarship in the amount of $7,500. Alexis will be attending NC State University as a first-year student in the fall of 2023.

In her essay, Alexis said “Architecture serves a larger purpose than a building. It serves as a way for architects to create individual experiences that directly reach people through design. While architecture is often integrated into an area, its purpose is integral for reaching the community.”

Students from the AIA Richmond service area who have been accepted into an accredited architecture program are eligible.

AIA Richmond’s scholarship program is funded in part by proceeds from programming, generous support from AIA National’s component scholarship program, and donations from individuals and firms.

AIA Richmond thanks the Allied Member and Golf committees for organizing the Annual Sporting Clay Shoot and Golf Social. It is through events like these that the K–12 Committee and Board have been able to increase the annual scholarship award and begin building a fund to support more substantial scholarships in the future.
